The State of California offers a range of funding opportunities through a variety of programs. The place to start any California grant search is at the state's Get Grants! Web page.
The Get Grants! page helps match California's organizations to federal and state grants. The page has an advanced search function and also divides grant offerings into topics, including Education and Information Technology.
The CA Dept of Education Web site also offers a section dedicated to funding opportunities. While many of the department's offerings are K-12, there are also many that fund K-14 projects. The Department of Education site provides a searchable database of available funding.
